The most south-western corner of the continent Africa: Cape
of Good Hope.
Here is clearly to see from where the Table Mountain has its
name: the flat plateau of the mountain without considerable
elevation.
The highest point of the Table Mountain is with 1086 m of the
Maclear´s Beacon, named after the astronomer Sir
Thomas Maclear who erected the first beacon here in 1844.
